Kaunas Municipality-based Kauno Energija and Lietuvos Energija are planning to build a new biofuel plant in the territory of the old power plant in three years.
Currently, the companies are negotiating on the cooperation terms but local communities, such as Petrasiunai and Amaliai are determined to stop their project, informs LETA/ELTA, referring to Kauno diena.
While the companies are negotiating, local residents have submitted a petition against implementation of the project.
