PPP in CEE 2012 - Programme just announced
Our 4th event in the PPP series will provide a platform for investors, financiers and developers to learn about PPP opportunities in CEE, including Poland, Romania, Moldova, Lithuania and Ukraine. Prof. August Reinisch, University of Vienna will be Chairman of SEE Investment Protection
August Reinisch is professor of international and European law at the University of Vienna and professorial lecturer at the Bologna Center/SAIS of Johns Hopkins University. He currently serves as arbitrator on the In Rem Restitution Panel according to the Austrian General Settlement Fund Law 2001 on a pro bono basis and as arbitrator in various investment arbitrations. From 2004 to 2006 and as of 2010 he was/is Dean for International Relations of the Law School of the University of Vienna.
Mr Dragan Vlaisavljevic to participate at Balkan Energy Finance Forum
Mr Dragan Vlaisavljevic, Manager at EPS Power Industry in Serbia was born in Pančevo in 1958. He graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Electrical Engineering, where he earned a MSc degree. From 1984 to 1994 he was engaged in managing power systems at DC Jugel. From 1994 to 2005 he was in charge of technical systems management at the Serbian Power Company (EPS), where he now heads energy sales. He has authored over 25 papers published at local conferences and in expert magazines, and three papers published at international conferences and in international expert magazines.

Our 2012 event will build on the success of our 2011 event in Bucharest, discussing market restructuring and the impact of the EU 3rd Energy Package, socio-economic benefits of energy sector growth, gas and electricity infrastructure, bankability of renewable energy projects with case study examples (including Biomass, Wind, Solar and Hydro Energy). Mr Petar Maksimovic, Secretary General at Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia AERS, will take part in the panel discussion on Regulating the Balkan Energy Market: Impact of the EU 3rd Energy Package. The panel will aim to answer the following questions: Do we need the EU 3rd Energy Package? How to overcome legislative obstacles in order to raise investment? How can the Balkans avoid overcompensation? Can a competitive market be developed through legislation or should it be left to market forces?
Mr Aleksandar Kovacevic, Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, to present at Balkan Energy Finance Forum
Aleksandar Kovacevic is an energy economist based in Belgrade. He has provided consultancy services to international companies and institutions in Balkan and CIS countries for almost 20 years. Mr. Kovacevic assisted the UN coordination of international assistance for rapid reconstruction of energy infrastructure in Serbia after the war in 1999/2002. He was principal author of the comprehensive analyses of energy and poverty: Stuck in the Past (UNDP, 2004) that is recognized as the standard work on the subject as well as the energy policy study Energy in the Western Balkans.

Mr Atanas Georgiev has graduated with Bachelor degree in "Economics" and Master degrees in "Economics and Management in Energy, Infrastructure, and Utilities" and in "Finance and Banking" at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) of Sofia University. He has worked as a part-time, and since 2007 as a full-time assistant professor in FEBA, Sofia University, as well as the secretary for the Master Programme "Economics and Management in Energy, Infrastructure, and Utilities".

Ms Ana Stanic confirmed to speak at SEE Investment Protection Forum 2012
Founder of E&A Law Limited, Ana Stanic is a Solicitor Advocate with rights of audience in all English Courts. She completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Banking) and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Thereafter, Ana spent two years at the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Relations and Development and Central Bank, where she was responsible for negotiating investment protection agreements and free trade agreements on behalf of Slovenia, advising the Slovene government on EU and international law, drafting banking regulations and supervising banks.
