5th Emerging European Investment Products Forum

After a short introductory note by our respected Chairman Mr Piotr Wisniewski (Warsaw School of Economics, Poland), Mr Piotr Borowski (Warsaw Stock Exchange, Poland) provided a welcoming speech outlining activities of WSE as well as a brief on the CEE investment market.
Following the welcoming addresses, the first presentation was given by Mr Daniel Ung (S&P Dow Jones Indices UK) who gave an insight into different sources of alternative beta strategies or risk premia in different asset classes.
After a brief networking coffee break, Mr Alessandro Canali (Banca IMI, Italy) opened the Structured Products session by providing a thorough presentation on investment product’s structuring techniques, followed by Mr Tibor Komm's (CIB Investment Fund Management Ltd., Hungary) speech about capital protected funds including comparison between the Hungarian and other European markets. The forum proceeded with the panel discussion - Platform bringing together all parties led by the panel chair Ms Reihaneh Fakhari (Structured Retail Products, UK). Other panellists included: Mr Piotr Borowski (Warsaw Stock Exchange, Poland), Ms Daria Anna Zabawska (Commerzbank AG, UK) and Mr Isabella Schmid (ETF Securities, UK). Highlights of the debate included challenges of achieving a balance between investors' demand and issuers' supply and solutions for moving forward.
Lunch ensued, facilitating a further opportunity to meet new clients and develop partnerships.
The forum continued with a session on ETF's. Mr Oliver Kilian (UniCredit Bank AG, Germany) opened the session explaining ETF evaluation and its' measuring performance. Mr Jan Ziolo ( ING Securities, Poland) proceeded, introducing a new product - ING Turbo, outlining main risks and advantages. ETPs on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and its great potential for growth was further discussed by Mr Bartosz Swidzinski (Warsaw Stock Exchange, Poland).
Following the afternoon networking coffee break, the last presentation of the conference was given by Mr Szymon Kurzyca (Heyka Capital Markets Group, Poland) who provided the audience with an insight into alternative investments. The final panel of distinguished individuals chaired by Mr Patrick Walker (FTSE Global Markets, UK) included: Mr Piotr Minkina (Union Investment TFI, Poland) and Mr Szymon Kurzyca discussing future investments and predictions for 2015.
After closing remarks from the conference Chairman, Mr Wisniewski, delegates retired to the networking cocktail reception for the opportunity to relax over a glass of wine.
