Invest in Kosovo Forum 2014

Mr Valdrin Lluka (CEO, Kosovo Investment and Enterprise Support Agency) then took to the stage offering an insight of the investment climate in Kosovo. Mr Virtyt Ibrahimaga (Owner, Ibrahimaga Osmani Tigani (IOT), Kosovo) gave a thorough analysis of legal and regulatory framework followed by Dr Frank Karg's presentation (CEO, HPC Envirotec / France & HPC AG / Germany & Kosovo) about investment opportunities regarding environmental issues in the mining complex Trepca. These presentations introduced the panel discussion on Overview of the Kosovo's economy and investment climate, chaired by Mr Leland Rice (Regional Manager, The Business Year, United Arab Emirates) joined by: Mr Jan-Peter Olters (Country Manager, The world Bank, Kosovo), Ms Jose Sulemane (Resident Representative, International Monetary Fund, Kosovo), Mr Virtyt Ibrahimaga, Mr Hamez Morina (Component Coordinator, Economic Initiative for Kosovo (ECIKS), Kosovo).
After a brief networking coffee break, Mr Ejup Qerimi, (CEO, Post and Telecommunications of Kosovo J.S.C. (PTK), Kosovo) delivered the presentation about the most viable projects within the telecommunication sector, followed by the panel discussion on PPP as a project delivery model, led by Mr Lorik Fejzullahu (Head of PPP Central Department, Ministry of Finance, Kosovo). Other panellists included: Mr Dritero Kadolli (Senior Manager, Capital Rings, Kosovo) and Mr Micheal Gold (Managing Director, Crimson Capitol, Czech Republic). Highlights of the debate included discussions on catalysing PPP's structure in agriculture and infrastructure.
Lunch followed, facilitating a further opportunity to meet new clients and develop partnerships.
The forum continued with a presentation on the real estate development and the most interesting projects for investment delivered by Mr Dritero Kadolli. Mr Arben Gjukaj (CEO, Kosovo Energy Corporation J.S.C (KEK), Kosovo) opened the energy session providing an overview of the energy sector of Kosovo and existing investment opportunities. The last presentation of the session was given by Mr llir Kelmendi, (CEO, Edelweiss Energy LLC , Kosovo) who provided the audience with the case study on the hydro power plant in Xerxe, discussing challenges and limitations facing investors in RES projects in Kosovo. The final panel of distinguished individuals chaired by Mr Mr Pasquale Silvestro (Partner, Tonucci & Partners, Italy) included: Mr Premtim Islami (Project Coordinator, KfW, Kosovo), Mr Hamdi Malushaj (Country Manager, Evroenergie, Kosovo) and Mr Arben Gjukaj who debated the main challenges for ensuring reliable energy supply.
After closing remarks from the conference chairman, Mr Arben Qirezi, delegates retired to the networking cocktail reception for the opportunity to relax, share their thoughts and swap business cards.
